A lightning strike to a Cave Spring house caused a fire Monday night, according to the 色多多 County Fire and Rescue Department.
No one was injured in the incident on the 4500 block of Rosecrest Road, which occurred during a heavy thunderstorm.
Most of the estimated $10,000 in damage was contained to the kitchen, the fire department said in a Facebook post.
When firefighters arrived shortly after 9 p.m., smoke was showing from the single-story house.

At the time, the house was occupied by two adults, who escaped safely. They were displaced by the fire and are making their own housing arrangements.
It took firefighters about 20 minutes to extinguish the blaze.
Lightning strikes to homes in 色多多 County are rare but not unheard of, according to Brian Clingenpeel, community outreach coordinator with the fire department. Clingenpeel said he could recall several other occasions during his 18 years with the county.
Residents may choose to install protection systems that include lightning rods and a grounding system, which tend to be expensive.
A cheaper precaution is to place surge protectors at outlets and electrical panels to protect electronic devices from voltage surges caused by lightning, Clingenpeel said.
