Tyrese Justin Hairston, 26, of É«¶à¶à, was arrested on charges of reckless handling of a firearm and shooting in the city. Four other suspects are also being held without bond in the case.

A search warrant filed in É«¶à¶à Circuit Court states that police responded to reports of gunshots in the area of 202 Market St., the address of the 202 Social House restaurant and nightclub.

Multiple shell casings were found in the parking lot between the restaurant and Mill Mountain Coffee.

Minutes later, police were notified by hospital officials that three men with gunshot wounds had been dropped off at the emergency room. Police spoke with one of the victims, who said he was downtown when he was shot but would not provide any additional information.

Based on reports that one of the victims had arrived in a black Chevrolet sports utility vehicle, police obtained a second search warrant for a similar vehicle that was parked in the 2000 block of Fallon Avenue Southeast.

Multiple bullet holes were seen in the SUV, according to the warrant.

Police used the warrants to obtain footage from Carilion Clinic’s security cameras, and a bullet from the SUV, for use in their investigation.

One of the injured men has been identified by police as the primary aggressor and has since been released from the hospital and arrested. Ke’ajhae Tyrik Cooper, 27, of É«¶à¶à is charged with possession of a weapon by a felon and shooting in the city. Cooper has a criminal record as an adult dating to 2016, according to court records.

É«¶à¶à detectives identified three other suspects and have filed charges or obtained warrants against:

Douglas Troy Hale, 37, of É«¶à¶à, charged with shooting from a vehicle, reckless handling of a firearm, shooting in the city.

Aundele Maurice Burwell II, 22, of É«¶à¶à, charged with shooting in public, reckless handling of a firearm.

Deshaun Eric Hunt, 24, of É«¶à¶à, charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, reckless handling of a firearm, shooting in the city.

All are being held without bond at the É«¶à¶à City Adult Detention Center.
