Edward "Sonny" Foutz, Jr., of Salem, passed away on July 1, 2025.
A native of Virginia, he was the husband of 40 years to Brenda Foutz, who survives, and the son of Edward H. Foutz, Sr. and Christine O. Foutz, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Melissa Fransisco; grandson, Jeremy Wilder; brothers, Samuel "Sam" Foutz, Russell L. Foutz, and Lester E. Foutz; and sisters, Shirly Chitwood and Nannie "Nancy" Campbell. Sonny retired from Thor Construction as a mechanic after 40 years and he was also Co-Owner of Foutz Furniture. His hobbies included working on old cars and tinkering in the garage.
In addition to his wife, those left to cherish his memory are his special sister, Patsy Becker (Buster); his sons, William McGuire (Ashley), Edward H. Foutz, III (Eddie), and Lee McGuire; daughters, Deborah DeWeese (Chris) and Virginia Bryant (Christy); grandchildren, Emma Kaylee, Kenzie, Avery, Cassie, Travis, Justin, Nick, and Chris; and his dogs who he spoiled and loved more than life, BooBoo, Summer, BitBit, and CarCar.
The family will receive friends at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem, on Monday, July 7, 2025, from 10 to 11 am. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Lotz Funeral Home in Salem. Burial will be in Sherwood Memorial Park.
