Virginia voters head to the polls Tuesday to pick Democratic nominees for and and nominees in , including two in the É«¶à¶à region.
Here's what you need to know before heading to the polls.
What's on the ballot?
Lieutenant Governor
Six Democrats are seeking the Democratic nomination for lieutenant governor: Alex Bastani, a lawyer and labor leader; state Sen. Ghazala Hashmi, D-Chesterfield; Babur Lateef, an eye doctor and chairman of the Prince William County School Board; state Sen. Aaron Rouse, D-Virginia Beach; Victor Salgado, a former federal prosecutor; and Levar Stoney, a former Richmond mayor.

The Democratic winner will face Republican nominee John Reid, a longtime conservative radio host in Richmond.
Attorney General
Former Del. Jay Jones, D-Norfolk, and Henrico County Commonwealth's Attorney Shannon Taylor are seeking the Democratic nomination for attorney general.
The Democratic nominee will face incumbent Attorney General Jason Miyares, a Republican who is seeking a second term.
House of Delegates
In the House of Delegates, all 100 seats are up for election in November. On Tuesday there are two nominating contests in the É«¶à¶à area.
In District 40, which includes all of Salem and parts of É«¶à¶à city and county, voters will decide between two Democratic candidates who seek to challenge the incumbent Republican. É«¶à¶à residents Kiesha Preston and Donna Littlepage are vying to win the nomination to take on Del. Joe McNamara, R-Salem.
In District 37, which covers the counties of Botetourt, Alleghany, Craig and part of Rockbridge, plus the cities of Buena Vista, Lexington and Covington, incumbent Del. Terry Austin, R-Botetourt, faces a primary election challenger in Austen Schwend.

In the Buchanan District, Linda Rottman is running against incumbent Amy Stinnett White. Dirk Padgett and Tim Snyder are running for the Amsterdam District seat. Earlier this year, Supervisor Steve Clinton, current representative of the Amsterdam district, announced that he would not run for reelection.
Floyd County
Board of Supervisors
In Floyd County, incumbent Kalinda Bechtold is facing Walter Phillips for the Republican nomination in the District E seat on the Board of Supervisors.
Montgomery County
Board of Supervisors
Supervisor Todd King is facing Dale Buckner in District E for the Republican nomination.
When do the polls open?
On Tuesday polls open at 6 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. People who are in line at 7 p.m. will be allowed to vote.

What do I need to bring to the polls?
Virginia law requires all registered voters to show one acceptable ID to vote in person. Many forms of identification meet the Virginia requirement.
