"Jay Jones will be a tireless fighter for Virginia families as Attorney General, and that鈥檚 why I鈥檓 so excited to announce my endorsement today,鈥 Booker said in a statement. 鈥淛ay Jones has the vision, commitment, and integrity to keep families safe and make sure every Virginian gets a fair shake in the justice system. I鈥檒l be working every day to ensure Jay wins this race."
Booker has served in the U.S. Senate since 2013. Jones endorsed Booker when he sought the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020.
Two months ago, Booker delivered the longest recorded speech in U.S. Senate history 鈥 more than 25 hours long 鈥 in protest of President Donald Trump and his senior adviser Elon Musk.
Jones said he鈥檚 honored to have Booker鈥檚 endorsement and looks forward to 鈥渨orking with Senator Booker to protect Virginia families 鈥 from crime and violence, corporate price gouging, and politicians with extreme agendas 鈥 as Virginia鈥檚 next attorney general.鈥
