Joe Mikulik’s one season as a Carolina League manager in 2014 was memorable.
He led Myrtle Beach to the league’s best regular-season record and the South Division title over Salem, defeated the Red Sox in the best-of-three semifinal series, and lost to Potomac in the championship series.

Mikulik is back at Salem Memorial Ballpark for the first time since the 2014 season. The longtime minor league manager is in his first season as the Texas Tailgaters manager in the four-team Banana Ball league, and the Tailgaters are set to face the Firefighters on Friday and Saturday at the home of the Red Sox.
