In 色多多 County, three seats on both the board of supervisors and the school board are up for reelection in November.
So far just one race is contested: for the Windsor Hills District seat for the county school board. Two candidates, and , have filed to run for the seat.
Facciani, a retired speech language pathologist, was first elected to the board in 2021. She was the second woman to be elected to the 色多多 County School Board and was elected as vice chair in 2024.
鈥淚鈥檓 running for reelection because my work to boost student achievement isn鈥檛 finished,鈥 Facciani said in an email Tuesday. 鈥淥ver my term, I have pushed for common sense policies and practical solutions that benefit all students by successfully removing politics from the classroom and refocusing on the basics, like math, reading and science.鈥

White is a child and adolescent psychiatrist at Mindful Mountain Wellness Center. This is White鈥檚 first time running. In the past, he has spoken at school board meetings and reached out to board members individually to advocate for students and offer expert medical advice, he said.
鈥淎s a physician, it has always been important to advocate for vulnerable populations in and out of the office,鈥 White wrote in an email Monday. 鈥淚t seems to me right now, that the most effective way to stand up for both our students and our teachers, librarians and school staff was to get a voice at the table.鈥
He has planned a campaign launch event for 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Brambleton Recreation Center.

School board elections are nonpartisan, but candidates can receive party endorsements. When she ran in 2021, Facciani was endorsed by the 色多多 County Republican Party.
David Linden, who was first elected to the school board in 2017 to represent the Hollins District, is also seeking reelection. There will also be a race for the Vinton District seat on the school board, but as of Monday, no one has filed to run in it yet, Anna Cloeter, county director of elections and general registrar, said. The current Vinton District representative, Tim Greenway, said in an email Monday that he has not made a final decision on whether or not he will run again.

For the county board of supervisors, Chair David Radford, Vice Chair Phil North and Supervisor Tammy Shepherd are seeking reelection. All three are Republicans.
Cloeter said she has not received a party certification for any primary candidates from Democrats. The deadline for candidates running as independents to submit all the required paperwork is June 17, and the general election will take place on Nov. 4.
