The Franklin County girls soccer team secured the Blue Ridge District championship with a 2-0 win over Lord Botetourt on Thursday night in Rocky Mount.
Lauren Henry and Bailey Smoot scored goals for the Eagles (14-1-1), while Maggie Hypes assisted on both.

Magna Vista 7, Mecklenburg County 0
Ava Walker earned a hat trick as the Warriors routed the Phoenix to capture the Piedmont District championship.
Baylie Coleman and Camdyn Shelburne added two goals apiece for Magna Vista (14-4).
George Wythe 4, Auburn 1
The Maroons deployed four different goal-scorers to beat the Eagles in the Mountain Empire District tournament championship.

Kerrigan Mitcham racked up six goals as the Spartans blasted the Bears in the Mountain Empire District consolation game.
Jadelynn Lane added a goal for Giles (10-6).

The Scarlet Hurricanes couldn't get any of their five shots on goal past Kadence Bowman and fell to the G-Girls in the semifinals of the Southwest District tournament.
Marion dropped to 7-9.
Boys Soccer
Magna Vista 4, Tunstall 3 (5-4 on PKs)
Noah Stout made a game-winning save on penalty kicks to give the Warriors a dramatic win over the Trojans in the Piedmont District championship.
Alfredo Carrillo scored the final go-ahead PK in the sixth round for Magna Vista (15-2-1). Carrillo also scored the first two goals for his squad, while Josue Velasquez netted the game-tying goal in stoppage time.聽
Auburn 1, Galax 0 (8-7 on PKs)
After a scoreless regulation, four overtimes and seven rounds of penalty kicks, goalkeeper Bryce Brunk turned away an Alexis Aranda shot to lift the Eagles over the Maroon Tide in the Mountain Empire District tournament championship.
Auburn improved to 13-3-3 on the year, while Galax fell to 12-3-3.
George Wythe 1, Fort Chiswell 0
Rylan Anderson-Jernigan scored on a penalty kick with less than two minutes remaining to lift the Maroons over the Pioneers in the Mountain Empire District tournament consolation game.
Malachi Braxton earned the shutout for George Wythe (11-6-1).
Fort Chiswell dropped to 9-7-2.聽

Patrick County 7, Carroll County 0
Hayden Lawless threw a no-hitter as the Cougars blanked the Cavaliers.
Lawless struck out six for Patrick County (16-4), while Lilly Hazelwood and Jenna Woods tallied three hits apiece.
Carroll County dropped to 7-12.
Baseball
Auburn 5, Grayson County 4
Matthew Altizer lined a two-out, two-strike single to left field to score two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Eagles walked off the Blue Devils to win the Mountain Empire District tournament championship at Calfee Park in Pulaski.
Brody Hensel scored the game-tying run on Altizer's hit, while Zac McGlothlin beat the throw at home plate to score the winning run from second base. Altizer finished with three hits and three RBIs for Auburn (20-1), while Graham Alley scored a run and Mitchell Hale added an RBI.聽
Mav Goad hit a bases-loaded, go-ahead single in the sixth inning for Grayson County (12-8).
Halifax County 10, Magna Vista 8
The Warriors cut a five-run deficit to two but were held off by the Comets in the Piedmont District tournament championship.
Simeon Moore earned a game-high four RBIs for Magna Vista (19-5).
Girls Track & Field
Alleghany dominates TRD meet
Alleghany won seven individual events at the Three Rivers District championships at Floyd County High School.
Ja'kara Heighter won both the 100-meter dash (12.70 seconds) and 200 (27.10), while Kiera Lowman won both the 800 (2:29.53) and 1,600 (5:23.01). Elin Heck won the high jump (4 feet, 10 inches), and the Cougars' 4x100 (51.11) and 4x400 (4:41.28) relay teams both finished first.
Floyd County won three events. Reagan Lynch won the 400 (1:01.46), Chloe Spence won the discus (131 feet, 5 inches) and the Buffaloes won the 4x400 relay (4:41.28).聽 聽
Carroll County won two events. Corrie Delp won the long jump (17 feet, 7.75 inches) and Amelia Dalton won the triple jump (30 feet, 10.5 inches).
Other winners include Patrick County's Sadie Martin in the 3,200 (11:54.47), Glenvar's Sophia Hammersley in the 100 hurdles (17.72), Radford's Bryanna Perry in the 300 hurdles (51.26) and James River's Samaya Osborne in the shot put (34 feet, 6.75 inches).

Buffaloes win 6 events at TRD meet
Floyd County won half a dozen individual events at the Three Rivers District championships on its home track.
Quinlan Beegle won the 3,200 (10:50.92), John Hajek won the 300 hurdles (43.62), Micah Underwood won the long jump (20 feet, 9 inches), Jonah Gardner won the shot put (50 feet, 8.5 inches) and the Buffaloes won both the 4x100 relay (44.84) and 4x400 relay (3:42.84).
Alleghany won four events. Maddox Wickline won both the 800 (2:06.52) and 1,600 (4:41.62), Des Jordan won the 100 hurdles (15.26) and the Cougars won the 4x800 relay (9:45.46).
James River won three events. Gavin Binns won both the 100 (11.14) and 200 (22.98), while Jack Beheler won the discus (143 feet).
Essiq Williams won both the 400 (50.88) and triple jump (44 feet) for Radford.
Brenden Fariss won the high jump (6 feet) for Carroll County.
